Delivery to residential areas is available upon request. 3 INSURANCE • EXPEDIBUS protects your shipments up to a maximum value of $100 at no extra charge. • If your shipment is worth more than $100, for a minimal extra fee you can have it insured up for to $1,000. • The extra fee amounts to $2 per $100 of insured value (see table below). PRODUCTS & SERVICES 4 PACKING TIPS Make sure you pack your items securely: • Choose the right container (size, durability). • Make sure items don't move around inside (pack everything securely with bubble wrap, newspaper or similar). • Completely seal your package so that nothing can get in or out. • Write the receiver's contact info (name, address and phone number) clearly on each package. PRODUCTS & SERVICES 5 TERMES ET CONDITIONS 1. SERVICE CONDITIONS a. We transport all parcels weighing 34 kg (75 lbs) or less. b. All parcels must have a maximum size of 60 cm x 60 cm x 90 cm, or 3.24 m3 (2 ft. x 2 ft. x 3 ft., or 12 cu. ft.). Beyond this size, additional fees will be charged. c. The maximum acceptable length is 2.1 m (7 ft.). d. All parcels must be clearly labelled with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the shipper and the consignee. Shipping instructions such as “Handle with Care,” “Perishable,” or any other relevant instruction, must also be provided. e. A shipment’s waybill may include up to five (5) parcels for the same consignee. f. EXPEDIBUS will do its best to ship all parcels to their appropriate destination with all due dispatch. The consignee will be notified of the parcel’s arrival as soon as possible. g. EXPEDIBUS does not undertake to deliver parcels within a fixed timeframe, and may not be held liable in the following cases: i. breakdowns, poor road conditions, weather vagaries, strikes, accidents or any other case of force majeure; ii. errors or omissions by the shipper or consignee (missing information). h. EXPEDIBUS reserves the right to open and inspect parcels and verify merchandise. 2. RATE STRUCTURE a. The basic service rate includes fees for transportation from the origin point of sale to the destination point of sale. b. The rate is determined according to the parcel’s weight and the distance travelled. c. Pick-up and delivery fees are not included in the basic transportation fee. d. The rate automatically doubles when a parcel exceeds the approved size of 60 cm x 60 cm x 90 cm, or 3.24 m3 (2 ft. x 2 ft. x 3 ft., or 12 cu. ft.). e. All shipments marked “Fees to be Collected” are subject to an additional $3.00 fee. 3. INSURANCE a. The shipper must state the value of any parcel slated for transportation. b. EXPEDIBUS’ liability is limited to a stated maximum value of $100 per shipment if no additional insurance has been purchased. c. For all shipments exceeding the stated liability limit, an additional $2.00 is payable for each additional increment of $100. d. EXPEDIBUS’ liability is limited to $1,000. A value in excess of $1,000 shall be at the risk of the shipper. 4. PROHIBITED PARCELS EXPEDIBUS does not transport the following types of parcels: a. Animals (including insects and other living creatures); b. Cash or items of great value (such as jewellery); c. Any substance whose possession or transportation is illegal; d. Hazardous materials; e. Any improperly packaged parcel; f. Any parcel marked “Payment on Delivery” (POD) or “Collect on Delivery” (COD); g. Any parcel whose weight exceeds 34 kg (75 lbs); h. Any parcel whose length exceeds 2.1 m (7 ft.); i. Any parcel that includes letters, documents or other items intended for multiple consignees and included in the same container. 5. UNINSURABLE PARCELS – AT THE SHIPPER’S RISK a. Perishable goods (with a limited life span), e.g.: i. food, ii. animal seeds, iii. flowers and plants. For shipping purposes, perishable goods containing ice or any type of liquid must be placed in hermetically sealed plastic bags (available at our main points of sale). b. Electronic equipment not in their original packaging, such as: i. computers and peripherals (screen, keyboard, printer, etc.), ii. TV sets, and iii. sound systems. c. EXPEDIBUS assumes no responsibility for consequences related to any delay, date or time of receipt of any documents whatsoever contained in a shipment, such as submissions, calls for tender, contracts, commitments to sell or purchase, lawsuits, summons or other legal or commercial documents whose late delivery could have certain repercussions. d. FRAGILE PARCELS – Glass, pottery, porcelain or any easily breakable object. 6. UNCLAIMED OR REJECTED PARCELS a. After the consignee has been notified of the parcel’s arrival, it is stored for a period of ten (10) days, at no cost. On expiration of this period, there is storage fee of $2.00 per parcel per day. b. The $2.00 storage fee is charged as of the day after the parcel’s arrival, if the consignee’s telephone number is not indicated on said parcel. c. A parcel that is unclaimed or rejected within ten (10) days of its arrival will be returned to the shipper, who must pay for the round-trip transportation and storage fees. If, after receiving notification, the shipper fails to pick up the parcel, it will be kept by the carrier for a period of ninety (90) days, after which the carrier may dispose of it at its own discretion. 7. CLAIMS a. All claims must be submitted in writing to the carrier indicated on the waybill within thirty (30) days of shipment. The claimant must include an invoice specifying the actual value of the lost or damaged object, as well as all details concerning its loss or the damage sustained.
